Jane Daniell although born in London, spent much of her childhood in a relatively remote part of Cornwall. Cornish myth and legend were a major influence in developing her imagination as were the illustrations of Arthur Rackham and W Heath Robinson. Jane has developed a wide range of work in watercolour gouache and oils. She has interpreted many of the Shakespearian plays, and the subject matter of her etchings also draws inspiration from the perennial themes of Comedy and Tragedy.
